Ecuador’s rainforest is located in the heart of the World’s largest tropical rainforest, the Amazon Basin, a unique ecosystem also called El Oriente.
Due to Ecuador’s compact size and the small area covered within the Amazon here, it is one of the best countries for wildlife viewing, especially as The Amazon’s rivers, lakes, streams and marshlands support over 600 species of fish and more than 250 species of amphibians and reptiles.
The short 30 minute flight from Quito to Coca, officially known as Francisco de Orellana, operates 6 days a week- there is currently no flights in or out of Coca on Sundays.
