About Us

Steamond Travel was established back in 1975, & is located in London. In 2022 our sister company Worldwide Holidays Direct, based in Bournemouth, joined Steamond Travel. The London office primarily deals with flight only clients & the Bournemouth office is the Tour Operating side of the business, tailor-making client’s holidays to include hotels, transfers, car hire, flights etc.

All of our staff are passionate about travel & strive to provide clients with amazing, unforgettable holidays to, what we consider, extra special destinations. Our mantra is to be specialists in a few destinations rather than being mediocre in a lot.

Our staff travel regularly to our portfolio of destinations, visiting the highlights as well as inspecting lots of hotels / properties – we can only know the areas & properties that best suit different clients by visiting as many as possible, & of course we will come across ones we find ‘lacking’, but that is also the point of doing the inspections. It can be a hard job but someone as to do it! 😉

The passion & knowledge we have for each of our destinations makes it a pleasure to tailor-make each client’s holiday. We offer a very personal service, spending time getting to know your preferences, interests, priorities, trying to work within the budget you have in mind. As we get to know you & your interests & preferences, we can put together an initial itinerary. Then work from that to make any number of revisions to get it perfect. Everyone is different, we all like different things, so why compromise on your holiday – we will strive to tick all your boxes.

Once our clients arrive in their destination our superb ground agents then take over, making sure all goes as planned. We only deal with the very best ground agents & they may not always be the biggest companies or the cheapest, but they provide the same passion we do for looking after our clients. They are very important to us & we have a wonderful working relationship with them. This all helps to ensure our clients have the very best holiday.

Just a note from me and Meryl to say how much we enjoyed our holiday in Costa Rica and how much we both enjoyed meeting you and your colleagues German and Douglas.
Having such likeable, knowledgeable people to guide us around your brilliant country made the journeys pass quickly and also made a huge difference to our enjoyment of the whole experience, as well as helping us to enjoy all the bird and wildlife sightings so much more!
We’ve been home for a few weeks now and the lovely souvenir Douglas gave to us has pride of place on our bedroom wall, . We have some really great memories form our holiday which we are passing on to many of our friends and which we also hope to add to when we return.

We really had a wonderful time in Costa Rica what a lovely country and the people are so lovely so proud of their country . Douglas who was our driver for most of the time was excellent , he went the extra mile for us which enhanced our holiday . everything went smoothly we only had one criticism that was in Arenal we stayed in a lovely hotel. Unfortunately it rained the whole time and we did not see the volcano , the hotel hot springs were only warm and we didn’t manage to go on any tours. We went into Fortuna one afternoon , we felt 3 nights was too many . I did look for things to do I am quite independent but I drew a blank . No one can control the weather . We did speak to someone who had been on a boat trip and got out of the rain we would have done that .Perhaps you could have some trip organised for one the days, just an idea. Otherwise we had the holiday of a life time and would have no hesitation in reccomending Costa Rica as a destination and your company to our friends.
