This natural sanctuary is one of the last remnants of cloud forest in the world, and is home to a great diversity of flora and fauna, many of them endemic to the region.
The reserve is home to more than 300 species of birds, including the iconic paddle-tailed hummingbird and the Andean toucan, and little-known mammals, as well as beautiful frogs, rare insects, and gorgeous orchids.
