Itinerary Highlights:

  • Visit a Rainforest Jungle, a Cloud Forest, a Volcano & enjoy a beautiful beach
  • Be as active as you wish – try zip lines, white water-rafting, bird watching etc.
  • Stay is superb boutique style lodges & hotels.

Day 1 – San Jose

On arrival in to San Jose Airport you will be met & have a private transfer to your preferred hotel – we have some special ones we like to use.

Day 2 – San Jose Area

A private guided tour to Poas Volcano (or Doka Coffee Plantation) & the La Paz Waterfall Gardens – with lunch included. Back in the afternoon to enjoy your hotel.

Day 3 – Tortuguero National Park

Today you take the shared lodge transfers by road & then boat to the rainforest area of Tortuguero – on the Caribbean Coast. It is an early start, hence why we recommend 2 nights in the San Jose area on arrival in Costa Rica. Breakfast is en route & the guide will have the driver stop when he spots a sloth or other interesting finds. You arrive for lunch at your lodge. You will be on a full board basis during your stay here.

Day 4 – Tortuguero National Park

Enjoy the tours that are included by the Lodge. We always include the early morning birdwatching tour.

Day 5 – Arenal Volcano

Day to enjoy all that Arenal has to offer. The Volcano creates the local hot springs that are a must to visit – the water seems to have magic properties!. There are lots of opportunities to enjoy zip lines, roped walk-ways, walks to the old lava fields & lots more. There are several hotels that we can recommend to suit your preferences.

Day 6 – Arenal Volcano

Group transfer to the lunch stop in Guapiles, after which you leave the group to continue with your private transfer to the Arenal Volcano area.

Arenal is another area of the countries diversity. You arrive in the afternoon – in time for a relaxing swim in your hotels pool.

Day 7 – Arenal Volcano

Another day to enjoy the area & all it has to offer – 1 full day is just not enough so we include 3 nights rather than 2.

Day 8 – San Gerardo Cloud Forest

Another regional diversity this amazing country has to offer is their Cloud Forests. We tend to take our client to the less touristic & busy region of San Gerardo de Dota region. Visiting a Cloud Forest is a definite for bird lovers but those with a more general interest in nature & wildlife this is also a great place.

Day 9 – San Gerardo Cloud Forest

The day to explore the Forest on your own along the trails or book a birdwatching guide to help you see the infamous Quetzal.

Day 10 – Manuel Antonio National Park & Beach

This is the perfect place to end your trip to Costa Rica. Being on the coast you have beautiful beaches set with the national park / jungle background. In this area you can simply relax at your preferred hotel, visit the National Park, enjoy some fishing, east out in local restaurants, surf, snorkel etc.

Day 15 – To San Jose Airport

Manuel Antonio is logistically perfect to end your trip as we can transfer you direct to San Jose Airport for your flight back to the UK- avoiding having another night in or around the city.
